Piedras Negras- Eagle Pass Rail Bypass New Bridge and Border

The project included the analysis of demand for the railway line, analysis of urban development in the city of Piedras Negras, developing a comprehensive rail project costing and their respective alternatives which included stroke and selection of the most appropriate; the development of the Regional MIA, financial and economic evaluation of the project, the legal analysis of alternatives to the project.

The project included the analysis to develop a rail beltway and new international rail bridge in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, which borders Texas Eagle Pass, with such projects intended to several basic objectives: 1) To ensure the supply of thermal coal for GAN Group supply CFE coal-fired power plants; 2) Develop a railway crossing with advantages for GAN according to logistics and mining on both sides of the border; 3) Prevent coal freight trains running on the city, making it more agile direct service for rail freight; 4) Minimize delays to local people in the interaction with freight trains; 5) To reduce the possibility of injury to the local population; 6) To contribute to reducing environmental emissions.

The completion of the work included: Analysis of the general environment of the project; analysis of urban development trends of growth and its interaction with the railway operation; the study of Traffic Engineering at the vehicle crossings with right of way of Railways in the Urban Area of the City of Piedras Negras; the analysis of railway demand; determining alternatives stroke; The proposal of a comprehensive project for railway border crossing; determining the environmental impact of the railway operation and development of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS Regional mode) and Technical Justification Study for obtaining the authorization of the change of use of soil preliminary and New Bridge Rail Bypass in Piedras Negras Border (Coahuila) - Eagle Pas (Tx). Socio-economic assessment of the project; Financial analysis of the project; Legal analysis for the project; Conclusions for the project.
