Market study on the feasibility of converting to the airports of Guadalajara, Monterrey and Cancun in Regional Hub´s
The study was to analyze the feasibility of converting the private Monterrey, Guadalajara and Cancun flights distribution centers (Hub's).STUDY CHARACTERIZATION
The main objective of the study was to conduct financial analysis, prefeasibility and feasibility to provide airport services with a regional setting Hub's (Monterrey, Guadalajara and Cancun) and Complementary Airports (Puebla, Toluca, Cuernavaca and Querétaro). This in order to create a unified implementation of trunk routes, feeder and alliances connectivity to determine the potential of passengers likely to be diverted to the new air transport service inexpensive plan volume.
METHODOLOGICS STRENGHTS
The study comprised three fundamental methodological analysis: 1) market; 2) economic and; 3) infrastructure. This to generate an action plan for the development of new business models of low-cost air travel. The main activities were:
- Evaluation of routes in terms of passengers, revenues and profits.
- Evaluation of new markets and frequencies.
- Potential of traffic and profits through code sharing and commercial partnerships Assessment.
- Evaluation of the optimal time of departure of flights and connections.
- Assessing the impact of competitive actions and the response alternative
STUDY VALUE
This study pioneered the approach of new business models for air transport resulted in tangible items such as devolution of AICM and replacement of ground traffic to get competitive rates compared to trucking. This new business model for airlines consolidated in Mexico in December 2005 with Interjet as a pioneer, while Volaris entered the market in March 2006 and in November 2006, Vivaaerobus.
