Desincorporation Strategy in Ports of Coatzacoalcos and Salina Cruz
Potential Istmo and strategic considerations for the development of Port System of Coatzacoalcos and Salina Cruz Development.The study presents a strategy for the desincorporation of the ports of Coatzacoalcos and Salina Cruz, in order to increase the efficiency of the port system and activating the strategic potential of the Isthmus taking advantage of conditions in the region for industrial location.
The study included: analysis of current port status of both ports, including the movement of cargo and vessels; Port Development Program that incorporated the needs of areas for development, traffic forecasts, works and required investments, determining the value of the Port Authority; analysis of the strategic potential of the Isthmus; Instrumentation strategy; and recommendations for the operation of a corridor in the Itsmo.
The Development Programme proposes the formation of a port authority to administer the Isthmus both ports, which receive the corresponding concession from the federal government.
